In this course you will learn the basic elements to screen for driving safety and specific tools to use when performing an initial screening of an at-risk driver.

On completion of Screening Driving Safety, the health care professional will be able to:

  1. Identify the component skills required to drive a motorized vehicle and understand the potential impact of various functional deficits on the driving task.
  2. Know the regulations and legal aspects of driving and licensure.
  3. Explain the screening principles and apply correct screening procedures to identify at–risk drivers within the continuum of the health care system.
  4. Identify clients in need of referral to centers offering specialized driving evaluation services
  5. This learning activity is an online, interactive, module which will require an internet connection to complete.
