Welcome to the Good Clinical Practice (GCP) ICH E6(R3) Update course. Health Canada requires all individuals involved in the conduct of clinical trials to complete training on ICH GCP E6(R3); this training is also recommended for anyone working in clinical research. This course provides an overview of the key updates introduced in E6(R3). To fully meet expectations, training on ICH GCP E6(R2) is also required. If you have not completed E6(R2) training recently, please take the Integrated ICH GCP E6(R2) and E6(R3) course. Please note that GCP training must be renewed on a regular basis. Consult your institution’s policy for specific renewal timelines.
Clinical research is changing, and so is Good Clinical Practice. ICH GCP E6(R3) Update builds on your E6(R2) knowledge to show how E6 has evolved and how E8(R1) shaped the new guideline. This course introduces the revised structure and principles, highlights key updates in Annex 1, and explains what these changes mean for day-to-day research in Canada. You’ll develop practical ways to adjust your site processes and documentation to meet E6(R3) expectations. By the end, you’ll understand what’s new and how to apply it thoughtfully and confidently in your own work.
